Sad Heaux the Goddess is a Black Bay Area alternative artist that has dabbled in various ventures, including releasing her own fragrance. Her latest single Halfway Sober is available on all platforms now! You can find her @sadheaux.tg and @sadheauxofficial.

Do you consider yourself to be alternative?
Yes.
What can you tell us about your upcoming release and where can we find it?
I will be releasing any single โAlready Deadโ ft. Keydrip on all platforms, expected late December or early January.

Do you plan to explore other genres?
I definitely want to explore some more sub genres of rock and metal that I grew up listening to. I definitely want to make more 2012-15 style Poppunk.
If you could collaborate with any other small alt artist, who would it be?
Sheโs definitely not small, but my dream Collab would be Courtney Love or Doja, either one and Iโm satisfied.

One of Alt Darlingโs main missions is to provide representation to Black and other POC alts. Would you say you had that growing up? How would you like representation to be going forward if you could change anything?
Well, growing up, there definitely wasnโt any representation for alt Black people in the scene. Iโm almost 26, so there wasnโt a big โalternativeโ trend that took over when I was young. I went to school in a really white town, and I was one of the only Black girls amongst a group of white emos, scene kids, and metal heads; we were all considered outsiders.
I was always known for being that โEmo Black Girlโ. I was bullied a lot, but by both white and Black people who thought I was weird, and it was super hard. Now that Iโm older, and I see Gen Z really killing it in the alternative scene and it makes me really happy to see! As an โOG Emoโ (so Iโve been called) itโs really nice to see this level of acceptance now that didnโt exist at all for alt Black people growing up. I wouldnโt change anything now, I would say we should keep normalizing seeing alt POC.
