You know how annoying it is whenever your tights are 3 shades lighter than your actual skin color? Well Iconografi has a solution!
What made you decide to create your inclusive thigh high tights?
At iconografi, we independently create originally designed alternative fashion that can be enjoyed by everyone! We’re a small and growing family business run by women of color, incorporating and reimagining aesthetics of alternative fashion, anime/manga, and videogames to design pieces that add to any look from cosplay to everyday! After having designed transparent socks, I wanted to try creating tights next.
In thinking up designs, I remembered seeing those cute cat tights that give the appearance of being a thigh high sock, with a skin tone colored section at the top. Upon doing some research I realized that those kinds of tights only seemed to be produced in one color, and upon reading reviews noticed they didn’t seem to accommodate a range of sizes either. So, this project came into existence out of my desire to redesign these types of tights so that they could be worn and enjoyed by more people!
Will the Crowdfund be affordable?
We’re still making preparations for the crowdfund, and it will be our aim to price them similarly to tights of this style and quality. The campaign is scheduled to launch this fall! When the Kickstarter page goes live, it will be linked to our LinkTree here: https://linktr.ee/iconografi
As we’re currently in our sampling phase, we are testing three potential designs, and up to five potential skin tone colors to match. Our samples thus far have accommodated sizes Small – 2X, and we’re aiming to accommodate up to size 4X in future samples.
In conversations with our manufacturer, it’s clear to us that order minimums will be high, especially with the range of color and size options we hope to make available. So, it’s very important to us that we get the word out about this project as much as possible leading up to, and during this fall’s Kickstarter campaign!
