From the convention to the stage! This year Dream Con showcased talent and created opportunities in more than one way with the Dream Con Music Star Search!
Dream Convention partnered with Touch Grass Music Festival to hold the Dream Con Music Star Search: Live at the Dream Stage music competition. The winner of the competetion earned the right to open for well-known artist PARTYNEXTDOOR and perform alongside some of the most (adj) artists in HipHop right now. Judged by Jay wells (Singer, Songwriter), Lizzy Ashliegh (Singer, Songwriter), and Wilson Zarzuela (TGMF Talent Buyer).
What is Touch Grass Music Festival?
Touch Grass Music Fest is a brand new hiphop music festival presented by streamer collective TouchGrass TV. Touch Grass TV is made up of creators JazzyGunz, Dwayne King, YaBoyRoshi, Sheera, and Lupasan. There will be performances by some of the most exciting names in R&B and Hip-Hop including headliner PARTYNEXTDOOR, JID, Aminรฉ, Monaleo, Flo Milli, and many more!

After an intense showdown between 10 contestants, ZayOfTheZoo emerged victorious! We were able to ask a few questions and see what’s going on in Zay’s mind post competition!
What were you thinking going into the competition?
Zay: I was nervous and just thinking about ways to calm myself I was also listening to my competition since I was all the way at the end and one of the last to go. I had time to listen to all the other artist. But most of my nerves go away as soon as I touch the mic so after I got to do my turn and everybody went along with the whole thing it gets easier and easier as the performance goes on.
How do you feel about your performance?
Zay: I felt great about my performance! I love that the crowd participated and Iโm so happy that the judges liked it.
Are you excited for Touch Grass? Have you decided what you’re performing and how are you preparing?
Zay: I am absolutely excited for touch grass Festival canโt wait! No, I have not decided what Iโm gonna be performing at touch. Grass hasnโt reached out to me yet to tell me how long I have to perform. So Iโm still waiting on that because I have to put all the music together accordingly but I do want to perform some of my older songs that people love.
But I donโt know if youโve seen it recently I have taken down a lot of my old songs so I can remake them with my own beats and I would love it if I could have a lot of those songs out by the time I perform at the touch grass Festival just so I can pay homage to some of my old fans and the people that like my older music, I also would like to perform a couple of new that Iโve been working on that Iโd be excited to share with everyone soon!
