As a gamer, I’ve been exposed to quite a bit of music in my time. In 2024, there was a track for King of Fighters XV called “Let’s Roll” and a voice caught my attention. That voice would be from the one and only Jayoung, the vocals for Korean Rock Group Rolling Quartz.

After some searching, I found their music and instantly became a fan. Especially after seeing their swag and energy on full display in the music video “Fearless”. Members Arem (bass), Hyunjung (guitar), Iree (guitar) and Yeongeun (drums), merged from two groups, Rolling Girlz and Rose Quartz, developed into Rolling Quartz and came back to Orlando for their second go around on a US tour.

Rolling into The Abbey in downtown Orlando, Rolling Quartz surprised me by being the only act I didn’t mind on a Wednesday night. That just meant we didn’t have to wait long for the Main Event. Before doors opened, fans were able to get free custom light sticks to help with crowd participation. Opening the night with RE BOLD and transitioning into Seven Nation Army, the night featured a mix of the band’s original songs and AMAZING covers. Another thing I really enjoyed, was each member getting a chance to show off their skills in individual solos!

The band went through songs like “Blaze”, the tour tile “My Turn”, and closed out the night with the latest release “Romantist”. One of the highlights for sure was the band’s great rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody! Jayoung has such a great commanding presence on stage and you could feel that charisma throughout the night. Iree on guitar brings a great complimentary as a 1B to Jayoung on stage. Altogether, Rolling Quartz had an amazing live presence! With this being their second international run, I genuinely hope they capture new fans around the world.
