What can you tell us about your upcoming release and where can we find it?
I have two singles currently out, Bad Bitch in Black” and “Financial Gain”. You can find them on all streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple, Tidal, etc).
Your releases have been fairly recent. How long have you been in interested in music? Do you see this as a long term career?
I’ve always had a passion for music and writing. I was a band kid for most of middle and high school. I played guitar and bass at home. I really would love to see this as a long term career path for me. To be able to have a career doing something I love has always been a dream of mine.
If you could collaborate with any other small alt artist, who would it be?
I can’t think of any just off the top of my head but I’m always open to collaborating and experimenting with new artists and sounds. If you like my music and want to collaborate, just holla at me lol!
One of Alt Darlingโs main missions is to provide representation to Black and other POC alts. Would you say you had that growing up? How would you like representation to be going forward if you could change anything?
Honestly, I didn’t really have too many alt POC that I could look up to growing up. I grew up on Jimi Hendrix and Prince, but outside of them there weren’t too many people, especially women, I could look up to growing up that looked like me. I do feel that representation has come a very long way since I was in middle/high school. Especially with the help of social media. Going forward, if I could change anything about representation, it would be to be more fearless. Wear your hair in funky styles and colors, wear as much black lipstick/makeup as you want, rock those platforms boldly! Never be afraid to live out loud and be your authentic self.
